The purpose of the Ohio Youth Soccer Association North Hall of Fame is to recognize people who have given their time, talent and effort to the youth soccer players in the Ohio Youth Soccer Association North (OYSAN) state association. To be selected a person must have contributed positively to the growth and/or betterment of youth soccer in OYSAN. Individuals, teams, leagues, clubs or associations can submit nominations for this honor.
Induction into the Hall of Fame will be a unique honor for a person, so therefore each year’s inductee class will be small. The Hall of Fame is conducted the weekend of our AGM/Workshop held in November.
Hall of Fame members will have their names inscribed on a plaque in the OYSAN State Office and will receive a crystal bowl or vase. (Inductees who have deceased will have the award presented to an appropriate family member.)
The Hall of Fame is a program of the Ohio Youth Soccer Association North who have established the following criteria:
- All Hall of Fame members must have contributed significantly to youth soccer in the Ohio Youth Soccer Association North as an administrator, coach, referee, media, or player.
- Administrators of any youth soccer team, club, league, referee or state including members of Boards of Directors, volunteers, and/or employees must have served for at least 10 years.
- Coaches must have served at the youth soccer level for at least 5 years.
- Referees must be retired from their top level of service for three years.
- Media persons or organizations must have had 10 years of service to youth soccer at any level.
- Players must be retired for at least two years from professional teams, or national teams the highest level at which they played youth soccer.
