Changing Landscapes: OYSAN Expands Fall ODP Training Program and Announces Additional ODP Program Changes
Tom Turner, Director of Coaching and Player Development

Nobel Laureate Herbert Simon noted that it takes about ten years or roughly 10,000 hours of training to become competent at anything. With the typical youth soccer player participating in far more games than training sessions; rarely training more than twice a week; generally participating in training activities that are less than well focused towards long-term development; and seldom resting for any significant period of time, the odds are stacked against our most promising youngsters from ever maximizing their athletic potential.

Contacts:

IMPORTANT NOTE:
ODP players are asked to e-mail, not call, the OYSAN ODP personnel to report all absences from an ODP activity.  When you are at practices, you are available to be seen & evaluated by the coaching staff.  If you are not at training, you cannot be seen or evaluated.  Numerous absences from ODP training may affect your status in the Ohio North Olympic Development Program.  As far as winter training, we have neither the time nor facility space to make-up or reschedule our sessions.  Thus, the more often you are ‘seen' the better your chances to be named to the state, age group pool and move outdoors in the spring.  Finally, because communications from the ODP are done primarily via e-mail, we ask that you email us immediately with any changes or updates to your e-mail address and that you check your e-mails regularly for program changes & news sent to you!
