For Coaches
Ohio Youth Soccer Association North (OYSAN) offers a comprehensive range of United States Soccer Federation (US Soccer) coaching education courses: the U6/8 Course, the U10/12 Course; and the "D" License for coaches working with players who are typically U12 and older. The "D" license is required by US Soccer for any coach seeking to enter the professional coaching track (C-B-A levels).
The Novice Coach Course is a 3-hour online, self-study course designed for coaches working with the U10, U12 and U14 age groups. The Novice Coach Course serves as a) the classroom component for Travel-level coaches enrolled in the U10/12 Course and b) an optional stand-alone offering for community-level coaches wishing to upgrade their knowledge and skills in working with young children.
At the November 2010 Annual General Meeting, OYSAN's members self-imposed the U10/12 Course as the minimum coaching education standard for competitive Travel leagues. The adoption followed similar votes by OYSAN State League members and the US Youth Soccer Midwest Regional League (MRL) to adopt the "D" license as their minimum qualification.

OYSAN also offers three specialist courses on an annual basis. The US Soccer National Youth License is held each June at Concordia SC in Olmsted Township, while the NSCAA State and Regional Goalkeeper Dipomas are offered in conjunction with a host OYSAN member club.
